Eyebrow shaping is one of the most important aspects of helping to frame the face and accentuate its features. Eyebrows are prominent and noticeable, people who are drawn to well shaped eyebrows, as they outline the eye and bring focus to this important feature. The eyebrow is a key feature for our expressions, the shape and color of the eyebrow has an impact on our facial gestures and expressions which can have a marked affect on how people see us as well as our self esteem.
Getting The Shape That Fits Your Features
One of the first things to remember is that each person's features are very different and so the 'perfect' eyebrow shape will be unique to each individual. The eyebrow has 3 distinct points to its shape, the point adjoining the bridge of the nose, the middle curve and the outer end which tapers to a point. Perfect eyebrows are, in general, are shaped like commas with the last point lining up horizontally to the first, the finer points are different depending on face shape, eye shape and or course personal taste, but the comma shape is a guideline for everyone to start off with. Each person's face is a slightly different shape; there are seven commonly recognized shapes beauticians recognize including round, oval, square and diamond.
Following Natural Lines
The basic rule of thumb for shaping the eyebrows according to face shape it to compliment the natural line, if you have a round face then keep the eyebrow as a rounded curve, whereas a more angular and square pace would be suited for a sharper curve and more sever line in the eyebrow. One of the most important things to remember when you are shaping your eyebrows is to make sure that they are symmetrical; even if they are perfectly shaped they look odd if they do not match each other and are equally balanced across the face.
Color Coordination
The color needs to remain complimentary to your natural hair color, never try to match the eyebrows to a bottle bought color as it does not work. The eyebrow color should always be in relation to the skin tone and eye color, this will allow for the most natural and attractive feature. The guidelines for the color of the eyebrows is to keep them light brown if you have blond hair and dark brown to almost black for brunettes. Once you have your eyebrows in the shape you wish, then you will want to try and train them to grow in this style so that they require less time and maintenance in the future.
Applying a little cream to the eyebrow and combing them through from the nose outwards is a good way to start training them to grow in the right direction. This can take a few months but with time, effort and patience it is possible for everyone to have the eyebrows they have always dreamed of.
